My Comedy

After shows people of all ages want to hug me. They often tell me I'm an inspiration, I make them not afraid to get old. I believe it's due to my comedy being a reflection of my life's experiences. It encompasses a misspent youth, young adult antics, middle aged exploits and continuing senior adventures. Laughing with others as I share the stories of my long life, ex-husband, living with Essential Tremors and growing older reminds both them and me of the joys of life itself. That's why I always say, “I'm not old. I'm used!”

As a 24 year veteran of comedy Sandra is funny, sexy (for her age) & irreverent. Audiences of all ages love her tales of growing up in the golden age of sex, drugs & rock 'n roll. She features & headlines at clubs, casinos and other venues around the USA and performs one woman shows at festivals. She took first place in the Funniest Comedian in the Valley competition and second place in the World Series of Comedy in Sarasota FL. She featured for national headlines Rocky LaPorte and Kris Kattan. You can hear her on Sirrius XM.

Sandra Risser was born and reared in Sioux City, Iowa. From an early age she wanted to be a comedian. Instead she made her parents proud by graduating from UCLA. Then instead of getting married, she disappointed them by moving to New York City and becoming a career woman like in the TV show “Sex and the City” but 20 years before during the golden age of sex, drugs and rock 'n roll.

Over the next 40 years she was a teacher, computer programmer/systems analyst, owned a travel agency, married, divorced and married her current husband. As Sandra says, “After retiring from earning a living, I finally pursued my dream of being a stand-up comedian”.

As a comedian Sandra is funny, irreverent and sexy (for her age). Her comedy embodies her years of living. She enthralls audiences with stories about her misspent youth, young adult antics, middle aged exploits and senior adventures. She shares stories about her ex-husband, living with Essential Tremors & aging. As she says "I'm not old. I'm used!"

For 20 years Sandra was based in the San Francisco Bay Area. While there she progressed from beginner to feature to headline. Sandra currently features and headlines at comedy clubs, casinos & other venues throughout the United States. In 2022 she took 3rd place in the World Series of Comedy in Atlanta & 2nd in Sarasota. She won Funniest Comedian in the Valley.

Today, based in Phoenix, Sandra continues to travel and entertain audiences with her unique humor. She still believes in the Tooth Fairy, Santa Claus and clean underwear.
